Some possible discussion threads.

-Online learning in the independent school (aka private school) world. The leader in this domain appears to The Online School for Girlsbut there are a number of other players and new entrants like the Global Online Academy. (Some other more experimental approaches include iScoop and OPuS)

-Online learning in the public school world. This is a huge area with major initiatives in many states in the U.S.. Florida Virtual School is one of the best known efforts. A recent, potentially disturbing, trend is the formation of virtual charter schools with what appears to be a primary motivation of saving money.
